Options for access:

  • 🛻 ATV/UTV: This is the most popular and fun way to reach the trailhead, directly from our campground via the Paiute ATV Trail.
  • 🚙 High-clearance vehicle: Some sections of the road can be rough; 4WD is strongly recommended.
  • 🚶‍♀️ Hiking in: For experienced hikers, it's also possible to walk or bike to the trailhead, though it's a steady climb.

🚧 Note: Parking is limited near the trailhead; be respectful of others and avoid blocking the trail.

Trail Description

The hike to Bullion Falls begins at a clearly marked trailhead near Miners Park. From there, the trail winds through tall pines and open meadows before ascending to a scenic overlook of the falls.

Expect:

  • A gradual climb with a few rocky switchbacks
  • Gorgeous views of Bullion Canyon and the valley below
  • Wildflowers in spring and summer
  • The roar of the waterfall greeting you as you near the top

A small wooden fence at the overlook provides a safe vantage point to enjoy the falls and take photos. There’s no need to scramble — the view is stunning from the official lookout.

Nearby Attractions

  • 🏚️ Miners Park: An outdoor mining museum just before the trailhead with equipment, cabins, and interpretive signs from Marysvale’s gold rush era.
  • 🥾 Bullion Canyon ATV Trail (Trail 02): Riders can combine the hike with one of the most scenic off-road sections in the region.
  • 🦅 Wildlife Watching: Look for deer, eagles, marmots, and more in the surrounding alpine terrain.

What to Bring

  • Water (especially at high elevations)
  • Sturdy shoes or hiking boots
  • Sun protection (hat, sunglasses, sunscreen)
  • Camera or smartphone for waterfall photos
  • Light jacket or layers — even in summer, it can get cool at 8,000 feet
  • Bug spray (especially in spring)

Trail Tips

  • Stay on the marked trail — the terrain can be steep off-trail.
  • Keep pets on a leash for their safety.
  • This is a non-motorized trail — no ATVs past the trailhead.
  • Visit early in the day to avoid afternoon thunderstorms in summer.
  • Pack out everything — leave no trace.
